Food Trends

We try to keep an eye on certain trends we see out in the food market by reading magazines, viewing websites, attending trade shows, shopping (on- and off-line), and listening to people. We usually gauge trends based on how many times a concept or item gets our attention in the "media" (tv, internet, magazines, retail stores, conversation).

Green Tea

It seems like companies are putting green tea into all their products right now. We've seen green tea gummy bears, green tea popsicles, green tea ice cream, and all sorts of unusual places where tea would normally be. Known for its anti-oxydancy, green tea has been around for a very long time, but for some reason its proliferating in many products right now.

Rose Wine

We demo our products at a local wine store (Grapevine Market) and we usually sample a few wines while we're there. Lately, there seems to be a profusion of rose wines coming onto the market. Serious wine drinkers seem skeptical of them at first, but, once they try them, realize rose isn't what it was back in the 1970s. We see more and more of the more respectable labels getting into the rose game, which will bring a little respect to it.
