Sauteed Mushrooms and Onions
There's just nothin' like the smell of sauteed onions...
We like them slightly translucent so that they are slightly sweet. Timing is everything in this recipe though.
Be sure to cook the onions until they are just slightly transparent on the edges and then add the mushrooms.
Its also important not to overcook the mushrooms and to remove them when they are still slightly firm.
8oz sliced mushrooms of any variety
1 medium purple onion, cut into quarter slivers
Olive or Grapeseed oil
1-2tsp Garlic or Chipotle Saltburst
- Drizzle oil into a large skillet over medium heat. If cooking this
as a side dish, begin this recipe about 15 minutes before your meat dish will be done.
- Add the onions to the skillet and cook until they are slightly
transparent on the edges.
- Add the mushrooms and stir well to coat with oil. You may have to
add some oil.
- Sprinkle in the Garlic or Chipotle Saltburst and stir.
- Cook the medley until the mushrooms have the texture that you prefer.
- Remove from the heat and serve.
