Chipotle Roasted Turkey
Its always fun to come up with new and interesting ways to cook
a turkey. If you like smoky, slightly spicy turkey, you'll love our Chipotle Roasted Turkey recipe.
One turkey
Chipotle Saltburst
1/4 cup olive oil
- Put a thawed or fresh turkey (breast up) on a rack in a shallow pan.
- Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh and leave it there while the turkey is roasting.
- Brush or rub the turkey with olive oil and enough Chipotle Saltburst to coat it evenly. For a 12lb. turkey, we typically use
5 tbsp of Chipotle Saltburst.
- Place the turkey in a preheated 325 degree oven.
- When the skin is a light golden color and the turkey is about two-thirds done, cover it with aluminum foil to
prevent it from drying out.
- Using the table below, start checking for doneness a half hour before its supposed to be done.
Always measure the temperature in the innermost part of the thigh, wing or the thickest part of the breast.
- Let turkey stand for 15 to 20 minutes before carving to retain its juiciness.
- Put Chipotle Saltburst on the table so guests can add more salt if they prefer.
